Ang Sa Set For Monk Merit Making Event
Offering jackets for monks on the mountain at Wat Khaem Son, Phetchabun, Thailand.

Phetchabun experiences significantly cold weather from November to February due to its mountainous terrain. This set will help them effectively navigate the challenges posed by the upcoming cold months.

We have surveyed in collaboration with the temple to identify the necessary provisions for the upcoming winter season. We therefore invite those who wish to join in making merit in this event.

Individuals who generously provide a set of robes or clothing to monks, motivated by pure-hearted charity, will be blessed with significant merit, as outlined below:
1. the ability to eliminate negative thoughts and defilements, such as greed and stinginess, thereby promoting mental clarity and peace.
2. Experience joy and pride in one’s merits while standing, walking, or sitting, fostering a sense of fulfillment and happiness.
3. Break free from poverty, hardships, and obstacles in all aspects of life, ensuring abundance in the four essential requisites.
4. In every life and existence, one will possess an attractive appearance and a radiant complexion.

The objective is to alleviate the burden of clothing acquisition for monks, allowing them to focus on their spiritual practice of Dhamma without concern. Providing adequate clothing serves to protect them from insects such as flies and mosquitoes, shield them from cold temperatures, mitigate heat exposure, and ultimately prevent health issues associated with extreme weather conditions.

The merit making event is held once every two years.

Ang sa set includes:
1. Ang sa jacket.
2. Sweater (to be worn inside the robe).
3. Wool hat.
4. Socks.
5. Gloves.
